Session Abstract:
Technology advances rapidly, and far too often rural communities get left behind in sweeping studies, and conversations, about the infrastructure and impacts of internet and digital connectivity.
And yet, what data has been gathered so far touts broadband served and digitally literate towns as fast tracking economic opportunities and growth, increasing agricultural output, and increasing options for the younger, remote-job seeking workforce.
In this conversational session we’ll discuss the case studies of rural areas that have invested in broadband infrastructure, and the challenges and wins of establishing a tech-centric community. We’ll take a multifaceted approach to both the physical, and social, infrastructures necessary for communities to adopt and celebrate digital opportunities.
